So here I am, all packed and ready to get started. An amazing time with my dear friend, then onto a really long airplane flight. Then a small layover in Korea, and then straight into Chaing Mai Thailand and into the arms of my beautiful daughter who has been in Thailand one year, to the very week. I have been thinking lately of this young woman I was blessed to raise. (one of 3 amazing children) When we were at a Newsboys concert when she was 10 years old, she marched up to me, put her hands on her hips, and with great authority announced “mom, God has called me to be a missionary”. I asked, “when did God call you for this?” and she replied “God called me just tonight”. She had that little gleam in her eyes, that spoke a very clear message “and don’t think he didn’t because I know what I heard and i’m adoing it”. I told her then we better start praying right away so that we could get her a christian education and start building up her faith and knowledge. And pray we did, as a single parent, tuition was rather daunting. And sure enough, in 7th grade she was enrolled in a fine christian school began an amazing Christian education…fast forward to her year at honor academy in Texas, Bethany bible college of missions, numerous missions trip…and here she is..one year into her internship as a missionary in Thailand, working with the high risk kids in the red ligth district.
How fun its going to be to take my little missionary daughter and her friend Heather to see the kids at the orphanage and to meet all these lovely people. A great joy, and a privilege to serve beside such a great woman of God who I can call my daughter.
