Then on to Kalkuta to change fights to Hyderbad. It was a little surreal as they herded us to a waiting bus to get across the airport. These men started piling on… and then soon they started loaded the bus with huge flat screen TV boxes. They must have all bought them while in Thailand. The bus was packed and these men were totally boisterous. I had the sweetest woman sit by me. She said that my passport was in a tiny pouch and so took her larger pouch out of her purse, took her money out of it, and gave it to me. She told me to put money and passport into in and wear it under my shirt. I found her kindness comforting.
Afterwards as we claimed our luggage, some of the boisterous TV men took our suitcases and put them on a cart under their luggage. Good thing Michelle saw it. So a airport helper went and got the luggage from them. They said sorry, it looked liked their luggage. Right… do you see many India men with pick luggage? And thank God I had a purple strap around the black bag, so that it was recognizable or it may have disappeared. They would have been a bit disappointed though, as it is full of childrens clothes for the kids at the orphanage.
After all this, we get a taxi to travel to the reserved room… when horror or horrors… it ws not the hotel I thought it was!!! I thought this was the same place as I was last time in India… it was very vulnerable feeling to get there and realize that I did not really have any idea in India where I was! Not to mention, though it was somewhat clean, very smelly, and a few blocks off the main road. We got very suprised looks while going in! So needless to say we went right to our room and locked the door, prayed and didn’t come out till a good night sleep. Thank you Jesus for your peace!
Things did look much better in the morning and we were not quite as far off as we thought the night before. We walked and did find an interesting, very old, run down, India museum. Then we found a cool hotel that looks like a castle. They gave us a great rate, although more than the usual hotel, its worth it. We will stay here on our 1 night back after the village.
So well, thats where we are now, in the internet room at the castle. We will stay put at the “not so nice” hotel for the night since its paid for… and tomorrow, on to Rajamundry. I look forward to seeing my friends, and being covered by their love and security. Although we have not felt in danger, it is very intimidating to get so many hostle looks, mostly from the men.
My time is up on the computer. Bless you and please keep us in prayer. We are fighting sick symptoms with coughs and full heads and sore throats.
Till next time..
We are firmly in his grip….
It is awesome to have a loving Jesus to rest in.
